"Who is wise? He who learns from every person." – Pirkei Avot 4:1 The Kinnor Philharmonic will celebrate the musical achievements of some of Tiberius Klausner's musical pupils. As a teacher of the violin, Tibor instilled a love and passion for music-making, no matter the circumstance. Kinnor is excited to bring three soloists for this performance. The concert will feature Jennifer Mitchell and Dani Hoisington in a duo performance of Bach's Double Violin Concerto. As a semi-finalist in the 2021 Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, Emily Shehi's stirring performance will amaze and inspire. Ms. Shehi will perform the violin concerto of Jean Sibelius. Join us for an afternoon that celebrates the musical influence of a teacher to his students.

Kinnor Philharmonic is celebrating its 10th birthday year in 2022! While this is hard to believe, Kinnor will take its audiences back to the beginning. Featuring works from the famous Vienna Philharmonic's New Year's Day concert; audiences will hear music from the Strauss family. In addition to this reflective, festive and meaningful music, Kinnor will feature the 50-year anniversary of Fiddler on the Roof and special birthday music for Kinnor. Come for the Happy New Year - Celebrate a Happy Birthday!

Join us for an annual favorite: a New Year's Day concert with Kinnor Philharmonic!
This year, we are thrilled to announce that internationally acclaimed clarinetist David Krakauer redefines the notion of a concert artist. Known for his mastery of myriad styles, he occupies the unique position of being one of the world’s leading exponents of Eastern European Jewish klezmer music, and at the same time is a major voice in classical music.
Klezmer music is the traditional Jewish folk music of Eastern European Jewish communities. Over time, the style of music has grown to include instrumental music, Yiddish vocal music, and modern fusion music.
The performance will be followed by a champagne and dessert reception.

David Krakauer is praised internationally as an innovator in modern klezmer as well as a major voice in classical music. He received a 2015 Grammy nomination as soloist with the conductorless orchestra A Far Cry, and a Juno nomination for the CD "Akoka" with cellist Matt Haimovitz.
Krakauer has performed as soloist alongside the Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Weimar Staatskapelle, Orchestre de Lyon, Dresdener Philharmonie, and the Baltimore, Detroit, and Seattle Symphonies. Krakauer has collaborated with the Kronos, Emerson, Tokyo, Orion, and Miro String Quartets. Krakauer’s discography contains some of the most important clarinet recordings of recent decades, including The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind (Osvaldo Golijov and the Kronos Quartet/Nonesuch); The Twelve Tribes (Label Bleu), and Paul Moravec’s Pulitzer Prize-winning composition Tempest Fantasy (Naxos). David Krakauer teaches clarinet and chamber music at the Manhattan School of Music, the Mannes College of Music (New School), The Bard Conservatory, and NYU. www.davidkrakauer.com |
